Laptop advice is always time-sensitive. This advice was written on March 5, 2026.

Laptop advice for fashion students, beginner graphic designers, and 3D students.

 

WHAT YOU SHOULD NOT BUY

For those who won't read the entire page, here's what you need to know upfront. Are you studying graphic design or fashion? And do you want an Apple device? Then several options are not suitable.

• The iPad is not a laptop replacement! Only buy the iPad as a second device alongside your graphics-capable laptop (if you want an iPad). 
• Do not buy a MacBook Neo. The new cheapest MacBook. This laptop is only suitable for email, web browsing, spreadsheets, and writing letters.
  • Technical detail: The MacBook Neo is an iPhone 16 in the form of a laptop (A10 chip). 
• Do not buy a MacBook Air. The MacBook Air does not have the latest technology (M chip) and is therefore unsuitable for graphic work with current Adobe and other graphic and video editing software. 
• Do not buy a Chromebook. A Chromebook is a computer without storage capacity and is only suitable in combination with working internet. Additionally, it lacks the capability to run graphic software. You can't even install it. In my opinion, you wouldn't want to buy a Chromebook for any purpose. 

 

PERIPHERALS

DON'T WORK ONLY WITH THE TRACKPAD

USE AT LEAST A MOUSE OR WACOM TABLET WITH ADOBE PROGRAMS

When working in Clo3d, you cannot use a Wacom tablet and must use a regular mouse. 

Yes, the trackpad is convenient but really not efficient for work, even if you like it ;-). 

 

LOGITECH

Creative work is not done with your trackpad. You really want to work with a mouse, otherwise, you're wasting your own time and skills, no matter how skilled you think you are. You cannot work in Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, or Clo3d with a trackpad. What kind of mouse you choose doesn't matter. The cheapest one from the Action store works fine. They are just a bit noisy and break quickly. A Logitech is almost always good.

AFTER YEARS OF TRYING, I HAVE FOUND THE PERFECT MOUSE FOR MYSELF, NAMELY THE LOGITECH PEBBLE 2. FOR APPLE AND WINDOWS.

TIPS!

• A mouse often breaks in your (school) bag. Use a plastic food storage container when you put the mouse in your bag. Then your mouse will last for years. 
• This mouse does not need an extra Bluetooth USB dongle. That is especially convenient, and you can pair it with up to 3 computers simultaneously, each with a different frequency.

 

 

 

 

 

 

APPLE MOUSE

The Apple Magic Mouse is expensive, and you have to like it. For example, I think it's a terrible mouse. But there are also people who appreciate this mouse. Try someone else's first before you buy one. It could be a disappointment.

 

 

 

 

 

WACOM TABLET

A Wacom tablet is optional but only necessary if you like to sketch by hand in, for example, Adobe Fresco (Windows only) or Photoshop. Fresco for Mac is only available on the iPad with Apple Pencil (and is also the best). But if you find a Wacom tablet for your computer useful, it is always fine, even in Illustrator and other programs. Buy the smallest one called 'One by Wacom > Small'. Do you work with Clo3d? A Wacom tablet is not usable. ALWAYS WORK IN CLO3D WITH A STANDARD MOUSE WITH RIGHT-CLICK BUTTON AND MOUSE WHEEL.

 

THE LAPTOP ITSELF

An Apple iPad cannot replace a computer laptop. An iPad is a super good and important tool. But you MUST buy a regular laptop.

 

HOW MANY INCHES SCREEN

Don't buy a laptop that is too small (11 or 12 inches). 13 inches can work, but 14, 15, and 16 inches are better. And 17 inches is too big. Then you'll carry yourself to exhaustion, and the screen breaks easily. 14, 15, or 16 inches is therefore ideal. For Apple, 16 inches is ideal. This is because Apple laptops are lighter, stronger, and the Apple laptops with a 16-inch screen are smaller than most 15-inch Windows laptops (but also more expensive).

 

Touch screen?

Don't do it!

 

APPLE

Macs do indeed have many advantages. Only if you have the budget for it would I recommend this. Otherwise, a Windows laptop is also perfectly fine. If you want or need to buy an Apple computer, choose a Mac with an M5 processor. You will usually end up with a MacBook Pro.

Why do people choose Apple even though it's so expensive?

An Apple laptop:

• Updating the operating system is always free,
• You don't need to set up the operating system; you enter your details and get started immediately,
• Studies have shown that you work 30% more efficiently on an Apple computer (everything works more easily),
• Lasts on average three times longer than a Windows laptop,
• Is very stable (rarely crashes),
• Has a higher resale value secondhand,
• To perform "Apple Intelligence" calculations, a secure chip is used, ensuring data never leaves your computer. No one can extract data from it. When "Apple Intelligence" data needs to be stored in the cloud, Apple has built a special extra-secure cloud service where it is impossible for anyone to extract data. Not even Apple itself or governments. An exception applies to actions involving Gemini. But you can see this clearly in Apple Intelligence. And you must also give your consent. In short, Apple's AI is very privacy-friendly. Apple Intelligence is also sustainable because no data centers are needed to answer questions; the chip in the Apple computer does it itself. 
• Is easy to replace with the same type and can be restored to the state of the previous laptop, provided you maintain a 'Time Machine' backup,
• Offers a display with more realistic colors than all other laptops,
• Has more secure operating software,
• No firewalls, virus scanners, or anti-malware are needed; it's all built-in,
• A virus cannot spread itself on a Mac,
• Is almost 100% immune to ransomware,
• Offers a free and secure password manager called 'Passwords' (do not use apps like 'One Password' while Apple already offers a secure keychain). One Password was even hacked once, and all users' passwords were exposed.
• Updating the operating system takes almost no time, while it takes a lot of time on Windows. You can always close your Mac, even if it's updating,
• Offers free iCloud storage,
• Offers free office apps that are simple and fast,
• Is stronger because the casing is made from a single (unibody) aluminum part,
• Is almost always repairable because parts remain available for a long time,
• Apple has the most sustainable ecosystem of all computer brands.

Yes, a Mac is expensive, but in the long run, you earn back the extra costs many times over.

 

QUICK APPLE TIPS

Here are a few important quick Apple tips:

• Never download and install cleaner apps. In any case, never MacKeeper or CCleaner.
• Do not download and install virus scanners. That is really not necessary on your Mac. Your Mac will become significantly slower.
  • In some cases, you may want a virus scanner to prevent passing a Windows virus to a Windows user. If you want to go that far, our advice is to buy the virus scanner 'Bitdefender'. 
• We strongly advise NOT TO INSTALL the Google Chrome browser. Yes, it's popular. Your Mac will really slow down, and it uses much more battery than necessary. The Google Chrome browser is constantly collecting a kind of report on everything you do while your computer is on and sending it to Google. The Apple Safari browser never does this, is fast, and specially designed to keep your data safe on the internet.
  Therefore, use only the Apple Safari internet browser on a Mac.
• Turn on 'Find My Mac'. So you can always find your Mac with your iPhone. Even if the Mac is off or the battery is dead, you can still find your Mac with your iPhone.

• Store ALL data in a cloud or on your hard drive. Do not store files on external drives and USB sticks.
• As an Apple user, you get a certain amount of Gigabytes in Apple iCloud for free. If you also have an iPhone, all your photos will automatically be stored in Apple iCloud.
• Buy an extra external hard drive with USB-C. Plug it into your Mac. Apple will ask if you want to use Time Machine. Choose 'YES'. Let the Mac back up overnight. From now on, regularly connect this drive to your Mac, and all backups will be done automatically. Meanwhile, you can continue working.
• Store your Time Machine backup drive outside your laptop bag. So if you lose your laptop, your backup is still at home or elsewhere.
• You can install Windows on a Mac. Don't do that. If you choose Mac, learn to work with it.

 

APPLE LAPTOP FOR GRAPHIC DESIGN OR FASHION

Only go for Apple if you can also afford a suitable Apple laptop. Don't choose the cheapest option. You may have an Apple laptop, but that doesn't necessarily make you better off. If you choose the MacBook Pro, you can choose the cheapest option of that type, namely:

MacBook Pro 14 inch, M5 processor. 16 GB RAM, 1TB SSD storage.

Note! The numbers such as how much GB RAM or processor speed are not comparable to the numbers on Windows computers. Apple works more efficiently both in hardware and software.

 

WINDOWS

For Windows laptops, preferably choose a 15 or 16-inch screen. 17 inches is not necessary, too heavy, expensive, and fragile. Because new laptops have high screen resolution, you can fit more windows on your screen, so 15 inches is really sufficient.

There are many brands, but there is a difference in quality. A good brand, for example, is Lenovo.

 

RAM

RAM is the working memory or also called 'internal' memory. This is temporary memory that works extremely fast, but when the computer is off, the memory is empty. RAM is, so to speak, the hands of your computer.

At least 16 GB RAM

 

Graphics Card (GPU)

The graphics card is a small computer in itself that performs all the calculations to display the image. But Adobe programs increasingly let the graphics card handle all other calculations (GPU). And that's why the graphics card is very important.

Never buy: A shared graphics card.

A shared graphics card means that the calculations for the image are also done by the processor (CPU). Except for Apple M processors, you never want a shared graphics card.

The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 is very good.

With Radeon cards, a comparison is often made to the performance of a type of NVIDIA card. And those are also very good. As long as they are comparable to the RTX 5070.

Storage (SSD)

Storage is the 'hard drive'. Here you store all files, even when the computer is off.

Never buy a laptop that can only store data in the cloud, such as the Google Chromebook or a similar laptop from another brand. Then you've bought a pig in a poke.

We recommend a minimum storage of 512 GB SSD (SSD means the storage is a chip without a spinning disk; it must be SSD). Normally, I would advise something more. But nowadays, you are increasingly storing data on Mega, OneDrive, Dropbox, or in Adobe Cloud documents.

 

Cloud Storage

The best cloud sync service (like Dropbox) for Apple and Windows users, in our opinion, is https://mega.io.

There are many, but this is one of the few we have good experiences with.

• Mega.io offers up to 20,000 MB (20 GB free cloud service). With 20 Gigabytes, you can manage for a long time if you don't put ALL your files in the cloud folder but only what you need daily. Do you exceed 20 Gigabytes? Then you pay €10 per month for 2000 Gigabytes (2 TB) at Mega.io. That's an enormous amount.
• Mega.io was founded by well-known hackers who know how important it is for your files to be secure. Mega is a very secure cloud service.
• What Apple iCloud cannot do and most other cloud services can is sharing a document or folder in such a way that you can send a link to someone so they can view it. That is the main reason why I use the Mega cloud alongside Apple iCloud. I actually have my entire business in Mega. Then an app on the phone, and I can always access my files.

 

VPN AND CLOUD STORAGE

VPN is especially useful for two things:

• If you are on public Wi-Fi (or on a fake public Wi-Fi set up by a hacker), the hacker cannot see your internet data and cannot steal data and passwords.
• You can choose a country when streaming movies where a film is available that is not available in the Netherlands.

You've probably seen the ads for NordVPN to 'surf the internet safely'. Safe is relative. Your data is encrypted, and no one can steal your data while you're online. But you're not surfing the internet anonymously. Is using a VPN a good idea? Definitely! It just costs money. And NordVPN is quite expensive. Do you also want a cloud service to sync data with your computer or just store it in the cloud? Our advice was already Mega. But if you're also going to use VPN? Then take Proton VPN and Proton Cloud. Then you pay just a little more than just NordVPN. Is your internet slow with Proton VPN? Then you should do this:

Go to the settings of the Proton VPN app. At the top, under 'security' and then 'Protocol', choose 'WireGuard'. And your internet will be just as fast as if you weren't using a VPN.

 

WINDOWS LAPTOP FOR FASHION OR GRAPHIC DESIGN

Processor (CPU) - The computer's calculator

At least an Intel Core i7 or AMD Ryzen 7 processor.

Example Windows Laptop

This laptop is slightly cheaper than the MacBook Pro and has 32 GB instead of 16 GB of RAM. But that doesn't mean the laptop performs better. This is because the Apple M chip is extremely smart and efficient, with everything in one chip. This makes the Apple laptop unique in its kind and means that numbers like processor and RAM figures cannot be compared with each other.

Advies laptop voor modestudenten, beginnende grafische en 3d studenten.

 

WAT WIL JE NIET KOPEN

Voor de mensen die niet de hele pagina lezen wil ik meteen al vast het volgende aangeven. Doe jij een grafische of mode opleiding? En je wilt graag Apple? Dan zijn een aantal opties niet geschikt. 

• De iPad is geen laptop vervanger! Koop de iPad alleen als tweede apparaat naast je grafisch geschikte laptop (als je een iPad wilt). 
• Koop géén Macbook Neo. De nieuwe goedkoopste Macbook. Deze laptop is alléén geschikt voor mail, web browser, spreadsheets en brieven schrijven. 
  • Technisch detail: De Macbook Neo is een iPhone 16 in de vorm van een laptop (A10 chip). 
• Koop géén Macbook Air. De Macbook Air bevat niet de nieuwste technologie (M chip) en is daarom ongeschikt voor grafische werkzaamheden met de huidige grafische Adobe en andere grafische en video bewerking programma's. 
• Koop géén Chromebook. Een Chromebook is een computer zonder opslag capaciteit en is alleen geschikt in combinatie met werkend internet. Verder bevat het geen techniek om grafische software te bedienen. Je kan het niet eens installeren. Een Chromebook zou je naar mijn mening voor geen enkel doel willen kopen. 

 

RANDAPPARATUUR

WERK NIET ALLÉÉN MET DE TRACKPAD

GEBRUIK MET ADOBE PROGRAMMA'S MINIMAAL EEN MUIS OF WACOM TABLET

Wanneer je in Clo3d werkt, dan kan je niet met een Wacom tablet werken en moet je een gewone muis gebruiken. 

Ja, de trackpad is handig maar écht niet efficient werken, ook al vind je het nog zo fijn ;-). 

 

LOGITEC

Creatieve werkzaamheden doe je niet met je trackpad. Je wil écht met een muis werken anders ben je een dief van je eigen tijd en vaardigheden. Hoe behendig jij er ook mee denkt te zijn. Je kán niet in Illustrator, Photoshop, Indesign en of Clo3d werken met een trackpad. Wát voor een muis je kiest maakt niet uit. De goedkoopste van de Action volstaat prima. Alleen die zijn wat lawaaierig en snel stuk. Een Logitec is bijna altijd goed.

TIPS! 

• Een muis gaat vaak stuk in je (school)tas. Gebruik een plastic voedsel bewaar bakje voor als je de muis in je tas stopt. Dan gaat je muis jaren mee. 
• Deze muis heeft geen extra bluetooth usb stekker nodig. Dat is vooral heel fijn, én je kan hem op 3 computers tegelijk koppelen met elke een andere frequentie.

 

 

 

 

 

 

APPLE MUIS

De Apple Magic Mouse is duur en je moet er van houden. Ik zelf bijvoorbeeld vindt het een verschrikkelijke muis. Maar er zijn ook mensen die deze muis waarderen. Probeer er eerst een van een ander voordat je er eentje aanschaft. Het zou zomaar een teleurstelling kunnen zijn. 

 

 

 

 

 

WACOM TABLET

Een Wacom tablet mag maar is alleen nodig als je graag met de hand schetst in bijvoorbeeld Adobe Fresco (alleen Windows) of Photoshop. Fresco voor Mac is alleen op de iPad met Apple Pencil beschikbaar (en ook het fijnst) Maar als je een Wacom tablet voor jouw computer fijn vindt, dan is het altijd prima, ook in Illustrator en andere programma's. Koop de kleinste genaamd ’One by Wacom > Small’. Deze is het goedkoopst (en de beste keus), tussen de 30 en 40 Euro. Klik op de link hier onder om er meer over te lezen.

Werk je met Clo3d? Dan is een Wacom tablet niet werkbaar. WERK IN CLO3D ALTIJD MET EEN STANDAARD MUIS MET RECHTS KLIK KNOP EN MUISWIEL. 

 

DE LAPTOP ZELF

Een Apple iPad kan een computer laptop NIET VERVANGEN. Een iPad is een super goed en belangrijk gereedschap. Maar je MOET een gewone laptop kopen. 

 

HOEVEEL INCH SCHERM

Koop niet een te kleine laptop (11 of 12 inch). 13 inch kán maar 14, 15 en 16 zijn beter. En dan is 17 inch weer te groot. Dan sjouw je je een ongeluk, én het scherm gaat makkelijk stuk. 14, 15 of 16 inch is daarom ideaal. Voor Apple is 16 inch ideaal. Dat komt omdat Apple laptops lichter zijn, sterker en de Apple laptops met een 16 inch scherm zijn kleiner dan de meeste Windows 15 inch laptops  (maar wel prijzig).

 

Touch screen?

Niet doen!

 

APPLE

Een Mac heeft inderdaad veel voordelen. Alleen als je er budget voor hebt zou ik dit adviseren. Anders volstaat een Windows laptop ook prima.Als je een Apple computer wilt of moet kopen, koop dan een Mac met een M5 processor. Je komt eigenlijk altijd uit op een Macbook Pro. 

Waarom kiezen mensen voor Apple terwijl het zo duur is?

Een Apple laptop 

• updaten van de besturingssoftware is altijd gratis, 
• je hoeft de besturingssoftware niet in te stellen, je vult je gegevens in en gaat meteen aan de slag,
• naar studies is bewezen dat je op een Apple computer 30% efficiënter werkt (alles werkt makkelijker),
• gaat gemiddeld drie keer zo lang mee als een Windows laptop,
• is zeer stabiel (crasht vrijwel nooit),
• is later meer waard om tweedehands te verkopen,
• Om de "Apple Intelligence" rekensommen uit te rekenen worden een beveiligde chip gebruikt waarvan de gegevens jouw computer niet kunnen verlaten. Niemand kan daar gegevens uit halen. Wanneer er 'Apple Intelligence' gegevens in een cloud bewaard dienen te worden heeft Apple een speciale extra beveiligde cloud dienst gebouwd waarbij het voor niemand mogelijk is om daar gegevens uit te halen. Ook Apple zelf en overheden niet. Een uitzondering geldt voor handelingen waarbij Gemini wordt ingezet. Maar dat kan je in Apple Intelligence goed zien. En je dient er ook akkoord voor te geven. In het kort is de ai van Apple zeer privacy vriendelijk. Apple Intelligence is ook duurzaam omdat er geen datacenters nodig zijn om de vragen te beantwoorde, dan doet de chip in de Apple computer zélf.  
• is makkelijk te vervangen door eenzelfde type en geheel naar de staat van de vorige laptop terug te brengen, mits je een 'Time Machine' backup bijhoudt, 
• biedt een beeldscherm met realistischere kleuren dan alle andere laptops,
• heeft veiligere besturingssoftware, 
• geen firewalls, virusscanners en anti malware nodig, dit zit er écht allemaal al in,
• een virus kan zichzelf op een Mac niet verspreiden, 
• is bijna 100% ongevoelig voor gijzelsoftware,
• biedt een gratis en veilige paswoord kluis genaamd 'Wachtwoorden' (ga géén apps zoals 'One password' gebruiken terwijl Apple al een veilige sleutelhanger biedt). One Password was zelfs een keer gehackt en toen lagen alle paswoorden van alle gebruikers op straat. 
• updaten van de besturingssoftware kost bijna geen tijd, terwijl dat bij Windows veel tijd kost. Je kan je mac altijd dichtklappen, ook als het bezig is met updaten, 
• biedt gratis iCloud opslag, 
• biedt gratis office apps die eenvoudig en snel werken, 
• is sterker omdat de behuizing gemaakt is van één (unibody) aluminium deel, 
• is bijna altijd te repareren omdat onderdelen lang beschikbaar blijven, 
• Apple heeft het meest duurzame ecosysteem van alle computermerken,

Ja een Mac is duur, maar op termijn verdien je de meerkosten dubbel en dwars terug. 

 

SNELLE APPLE TIPS

Even een paar belangrijke snelle Apple tips:

• Download en installeer nooit cleaner apps. In elk geval nooit MacKeeper of CCleaner.
• Download en installeer geen virus scanners. Dat is echt niet nodig op je Mac. Je Mac wordt er aanzienlijk trager van.
  • In sommige gevallen wil je een virusscanner om te voorkomen dat je een Windows virus doorgeeft aan een windows gebruiker. Als je zo ver wilt gaan, dan is ons advies om de virusscanner 'Bitdefender' te kopen. 
• Wij adviseren met klem om GEEN Google Chrome browser te installeren. Ja het is populair. Je Mac wordt er écht trager van en het gebruikt véél meer batterij dan nodig. De Google Chrome browser is namelijk altijd als je computer aan staat alles wat je doet aan het verzamelen er een soort verslag van naar Google aan het sturen. De Apple Safari browser doet zo iets nooit, is snel en speciaal ontworpen om jouw gegevens op internet veilig te houden.
  Gebruik op een Mac daarom alléén de Apple Safari internet browser. 
• Zet 'Zoek mijn Mac' aan. Zodat je je Mac met je iPhone altijd terug kan vinden. Zélfs als de Mac uit staat of de batterij leeg is, dan nóg kan je je Mac terugvinden met je iPhone.

• Bewaar ALLE data in een cloud of op je harde schijf. Ga niet bestanden op externe schijven en stickjes bewaren. 
• Als Apple gebruiker krijg je gratis een hoeveelheid Gigabites in Apple iCloud. Als je ook een iPhone hebt, dan zal je bijvoorbeeld al je foto's automatisch al in de Apple iCloud hebben staan.  
• Koop een extra losse harde schijf USB-C. Prik die aan je Mac. Apple vraagt of je Time Machine mag gebruiken. Kies 'JA'. Laat de Mac nu een avondje backuppen. En vanaf nu hang je met regelmaat deze schijf aan je Mac en alle backuppen gaat automatisch. Ondertussen kan je gewoon doorwerken. 
• Bewaar je Time Machine backup schijf buiten je laptop tas. Zodat wanneer je je laptop verliest je backup nog thuis of elders hebt liggen. 
• Je kán Windows op een Mac installeren. Doe dat niet. Kies je voor Mac? Leer dan ook om daar mee te werken. 

 

APPLE LAPTOP VOOR GRAFISCH OF MODE

Ga alleen voor Apple als je ook een geschikte Apple laptop kan betalen. Kies niet voor de goedkoopste optie. Je hebt dan wel een Apple laptop, maar daar wordt je niet perse beter van. Kies je de Macbook Pro, dan mag je van dat type wel de goedkoopste optie kiezen namelijk: 

Macbook Pro 14 inch, M5 processor. 16 GB Ram, 1TB SSD opslag. 

€ 1929,- inclusief BTW. 

 

Let op! De getallen zoals hoeveel GB Ram of snelheid van de processor zijn niet vergelijkbaar met de getallen op Windows computer. Apple werkt zowel in de hardware als in de software efficiënter. 

 

WINDOWS

Windows laptops kies je het liefst voor een 15 of 16 inch scherm. 17 is niet nodig, veel te zwaar, duur en kwetsbaar. Doordat nieuwe laptops een hoge scherm resolutie hebben kan je meer vensters kwijt op je scherm en daarom is 15 inch echt voldoende. 

Er zijn veel merken maar er is wel verschil in kwaliteit. Een goed merk is bijvoorbeeld Lenovo.

 

Ram

Ram is het werkgeheugen of ook wel 'intern' geheugen genoemd. Dit is tijdelijk geheugen wat extreem snel werkt, maar als de computer uit staat, is het geheugen leeg. De RAM is zeg maar de handen van je computer. 

Minimaal 16 GB ram

 

Videokaart (GPU)

De videokaart is een kleine computer op zich zelf die alle berekeningen doet om het beeld te tonen. Máár Adobe programma's laten alle andere berekeningen ook steeds meer door de videokaart uitrekenen (GPU). En daarom is de videokaart heel belangrijk.

Koop nooit: Een shared videokaart.

Een shared videokaart is dat de berekeningen voor het beeld óók door de processor worden gedaan (CPU). Behalve bij Apple M processors, wil je nooit een shared videokaart. 

Héél mooi is de NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070.

Bij Radeon kaarten wordt vaak een vergelijking getrokken naar de prestaties van een type NVIDIA kaart. En die zijn ook heel goed. Als ze maar vergelijkbaar zijn met de RTX 5070. 

Vaste opslag (SSD)

De vaste opslag is de 'harde schijf'. Hier bewaar je alle bestanden, óók als de computer uit staat. 

Koop nóóit een laptop die alléén in de cloud op kan slaan zoals de Google Chromebook of een ander merk verglijkbare laptop. Dan heb je een kat in de zak gekocht. 

Wij adviseren een minimale opslag van 512 GB SSD (SSD betekent dat de opslag een chip is zónder draaischijf er in, het moét SSD zijn). Normaal gesproken zou ik iets meer adviseren. Maar tegenwoordig ga je steeds vaker opslaan op Mega, One drive, Drop Box of in de Adobe Clouddocumenten. 

 

Cloud opslag

De beste Cloud sync dienst (zoals Dropbox) voor Apple én Windows gebruikers is naar onze mening https://mega.io. 

Er zijn er een heleboel, maar dit is een van de vele waar wij goede ervaringen mee hebben. 

• Mega.io biedt tot 20.000 MB (20 GB) gratis cloud dienst aan. Met 20 Gigabite kan je lang doen wanneer je niet AL je bestanden in de cloud map zet maar alleen wat je dagelijks nodig hebt. Ga je over de 20 Gigabite? Dan betaal je bij Mega.io € 10,- per maand voor 2000 Gigabite (2 TB). Dat is bizar veel). 
• Mega.io is opgericht door bekende hackers die weten hoe belangrijk het is dat je bestanden veilig zijn. Mega is een hele veilige cloud dienst.
• Wat Apple iCloud niét kan en de meeste andere cloud diensten wél is het delen van een document of map zodanig dat je er een koppeling van naar iemand kan sturen zodat die er in kan kijken. Dat is voor mij de belangrijkste reden waarom ik naast Apple iCloud de Mega cloud gebruik. Ik heb eigenlijk mijn hele bedrijf in Mega staan. Vervolgens een app er van op de telefoon en ik kan altijd bij mijn bestanden. 

 

VPN EN CLOUDOPSLAG

VPN is vooral voor twee dingen handig: 

• Als je op een openbare wifi zit (of op een nép openbare wifi van een hacker) dan kan de hacker jouw internet gegevens niet zien en geen gegevens en paswoorden stelen. 
• Je kan met streamen van films een land kiezen waar een film wel beschikbaar is die niet in Nederland beschikbaar is. 

Je kant vast de reclames van NordVPN om 'veilig te internetten'. Veilig is relatief. Je data is versleuteld en niemand kan jouw gegevens stelen als je op internet zit. Maar je bent niet anoniem aan het internetten. Is gebruik van VPN een goed idee? Beslist! Het kost alleen wel geld. En NordVPN is best duur. Wil je bijvoorbeeld ook een clouddienst om data te syncen met jouw computer of alleen in de cloud te zetten? Ons advies was hierboven al Mega. Maar als je ook VPN gaat doen? Neem dan Proton VPN en de Cloud van Proton. Dan betaal je nét iets meer dan alleen VPN van NordVPN. Is je internet met Proton VPN traag? Dan moet je dit even doen: 

Ga naar de instellingen van Proton VPN app. Bovenaan bij 'beveiliging' en dan 'Protocol' kies je 'WireGuard'. En je internet is onverminderd snel dan als je geen VPN zou gebruiken.

Deze laptop is iets goedkoper dan de Macbook Pro en bevat 32 GB ipv 16 GB werkgeheugen. Maar dat betekent niet dat de laptop betere prestaties levert. Dat komt omdat de Apple M chip uitermate slim en efficient is ontworpen met alles in één chip. Dit maakt de Apple laptop uniek in zijn soort en betekent dat de getallen zoals processor en werkgeheugen cijfers niet met elkaar vergeleken kunnen worden.
